Dawn Kist Chosen as Geneva Lake Art Association Artist of the Month to display at the M&I, BMO Harris Bank in Lake Geneva

The Geneva Lake Art Association has chosen artwork by Dawn Kist to be on display during the month of May at the M&I BMO Harris Bank in Lake Geneva.

Dawn is a local artist, who grew up in the Elkhorn area where she and her husband, and two sons, still live today. Having grown up in a family where talent abounds, Dawn and her two sisters have followed in their mother’s exceptionally creative shoes. Dawn’s originality and exuberance jump into the spotlight, no matter what medium she chooses. Those choices include acrylics, pastels, charcoals and pencil. She creates and paints from feeling, letting the colors and textures just flow out.

When she is not busy painting or drawing, Dawn can be found behind the lens of one of her favorite cameras. Nature and landscapes are her favorite subjects, while close-ups of flowers are one of her passions. Many of these photographs emphasize the contemporary accents of light, shadow and texture. She has won awards in photography and strives to make her images different to stand out from the rest.

Dawn has been an active member of the Geneva Lake Art Association for the past several years, serving on the Board as Publicity Chairman, and securing presenters for our Member Meetings.  

The M&I BMO Harris Bank is located at 410 Broad Street in Lake Geneva. They have been a strong supporter of the Geneva Lake Art Association for many years and host a different artist’s work every month. They are also a sponsor for GLAA’s Art in the Park annual event, the second weekend in August every year.

The GLAA Gallery is located at 647 W. Main Street, in the Northshore Pavilion and is open to the public on Saturdays from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm and Sundays from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Starting June first through August 31^st, the gallery will also be open on Friday afternoons from 1:00 until 4:00 pm.
