GLAA’s Artist of the Month displays at Talmer Bank and Trust

in Lake Geneva

The Geneva Lake Art Association and Talmer Bank and Trust are pleased to announce monthly art exhibitions in the 567 Broad Street Bank lobby. Each month a different artist from the Art Association displays an exhibit of his/her work. The exhibits are open to the public during regular banking hours and the public is invited to view the work.The artist of the month for June, 2012 is Karen Gulbransen.

Karen Sue Gulbransen has been a life long resident of south-east Wisconsin, even though she was born in Camp Pendleton, CA. She has been drawing and painting animals, people and places since she was able to pick up a pencil or brush. Karen has attended local schools and colleges, holds business and technical degrees, but has always had a zest for art.

She has won awards at the Kenosha County Fair and has shown her work at the Rhode Center for the Arts, the KAAleidoscope Gallery and the Kenosha Public Museum. She now lives in western Kenosha County with her dog and two cats, and has recently begun to get involved in the arts in Lake Geneva. Karen also does graphic and web design, but she strives to be like Monet - gardening in the summer months and painting in the cooler seasons.

Examples of her work can also be seen at the Geneva Lake Art Association Gallery in the North Shore Pavilion at 623 W. Main Street (in the Subway Mall), which June through August is open Fridays, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Saturdays, 10:00 – 4:00 pm and Sundays, 1:00 – 4:00 pm.
